New, Full-Length Album "Heart on a Wire" Out Now!

It's here! My new, full-length album that was two years in the making, Heart on a Wire, is finally released and live in all the places you find music.  I hope you'll listen to it and feel all the love, hard work, planning, vision, and well, musical magic that went into it. It's all yours now!

Thank you to all of the people who helped me create this recording, especially my producer John McVey, and my wonderful crowdfund supporters, whose generosity helped fund this project.

I was honored that one of my favorite online music magazines, Americana Highways, reviewed the album. Music reviewer John Apice had these very kind words to say about it:

[The album] has material as pleasing as work by the likes of Joni Mitchell mixed with doses of Emmylou Harris & Beth Nielsen-Chapman. It’s a tightly constructed LP with every day occurrences (“All Burned Out” & “Call My Heart Home”) that incorporate feelings, reminisces & would resonate with listeners.

Read the entire review here. Writing for Americana UK, music critic Graeme Tait offered these thoughts:

With 'Heart On A Wire,' Shulman has done enough to confidently propel herself to the next level as a singer-songwriter, displaying an acute and highly individual lyrical narrative.

I hope you will listen and find something  that moves you, makes you want to dance, or makes you feel seen / less alone.

Carolyn Shulman & Sarah Golden Song Swap

 —  —

Trident Booksellers & Cafe, 940 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO

Carolyn Shulman & Sarah Golden met on the local music scene while they both lived in Houston, Texas more than 25 years ago, and they became fast friends. Now, though they no longer live in the same city (Carolyn moved to Denver in 2014), both Carolyn & Sarah have become critically acclaimed singer-songwriters, recording artists, and performers. Sarah is fresh off her win at the 2026 Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Songwriting Contest, and she was featured on Season 2 of NBC's The Voice (Team CeeLo). Carolyn is a former finalist in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival's Songwriter Showcase, and both of her full length albums landed on the FAI Folk Radio Charts. Come see them perform at Trident Booksellers & Cafe, and you will feel like you've stepped into a casual living room where two old friends are trading songs and stories. You will love their easy camaraderie and rapport onstage just as much as you will love their songs! It's a free, all ages show, outside on the back patio (covered seating available). Tips will be gratefully and joyfully accepted!
